Five Westport Athletics athletes competed in the GloHealth National Juvenile Combined Events Championships & Children’s Games in Tullamore on Saturday last where there was tremendous competition with athletes as young as U9 competing in running, throwing and jumping events.
The performance of the day goes to Sarah Mulroy and Leila O’Malley who won the bronze medal in the U11 team Long Jump jumping a brilliant combined total of 6.95m just 7cm short of the gold. They also came in ninth place in the U11 team 60m sprint.
