Westport AC

Westport AC is the largest Juvenile Athletics club in Mayo and the seventh largest in Ireland in the latest Athletics Ireland club membership report. Out of the 366 affiliated clubs with Athletics Ireland, Westport AC is currently 20th overall.

We currently have 432 juvenile members, in September 2023 we had 288 juvenile members so a growth of50% in just over a year with total club membership of 550 and climbing each week.

This growth is in no small part to our wonderful team of coaches who are nurturing our athletes and giving them space to enjoy getting fit in a fun way.

We have also had huge investment in our facilities in Horkan's Hill and are eagerly awaiting a tartan track in the coming months.

We are forever indebted to the generosity and support of so many wonderful businesses and individuals in our Community.

Connacht Indoors Timetable

Connacht Indoors takes place in Athlone Indoor Arena on Saturday 24th of February for U12-U13 and Sunday 25th for U14-Senior.

Mayo Indoors Timetable

Please see attached timetable for Mayo Indoor Championships on Sunday 28th January in Claremorris.

All events start at 10am sharp (except for Shot Putt).

Registration from 8.45am.

Official’s check-in and photos 9am.

As the outdoor Shot Putt area is currently in poor condition, it has been agreed that the Shot Putt competition will be held Indoors from 8am until 10am. Could all SP competitors report to the Indoor Shot Putt area as soon as possible after arrival.

Roisin O’Brien star of the show for Westport AC in All-Ireland Club Cross Country

The curtain came down on the club cross country season with the even-age athletes battling it out for honours in Abbottstown (Dublin) on 26th Nov, followed by the unevens in Waterford on 17th Dec. Roisin O’Brien impressed in both age groups with individual medal winning performances and the boys’ U16 team secured a 3rd place finish.

O’BRIEN TURNS ON THE STYLE IN CONNACHT CROSS COUNTRY

November 22, 2017

Westport AC continued their strong performances in cross-country running in the recent Connacht Championships at Calry, Leitrim on the 29th Oct (evens) and at Moyne, Longford on the 5th Nov (unevens). Saoirse O’Brien was the star of show, claiming gold in both U16 and U17 races.

First up on the deceptively difficult course in Calry was the U12 boys. Luke Durkan, Padraig Corduff, Declan Moore, Cillian McGing, Jack Dawson and Jack Sweeney all put in plucky displays, taking the 3rd club tea...

AAI Leitrim County Board will host the Connacht Evens & Senior league Cross Country Championships 2017.
