The Aviva All Ireland Schools’ Combined Event Championships took place in Athlone International Arena on Saturday, 16th of November. The competition brought together the best schools combined event athletes in the country to take part in the junior, intermediate and senior categories.
Westport ACs Katie Hyland participated in the senior event, representing the Sacred Heart School, Westport.  Katie competed in 5 events, coming 1st in the Hurdles, Shot Putt and Long Jump and 2nd in the High Jump and 800m.  These amazing performances led to Katie receiving a total of 2,946 points and a gold All Ireland medal, a fantastic achievement.
