Day 3 at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships at Nenagh was a day of great wins and great disappointment.
Laimonas Ruibys won a bronze medal in the boys U-19 Shot Putt while David Harper finished with great speed to win silver in the boys U-15 800m. Meanwhile Anthony Chambers won silver in the boys U-17 800m. Deena Sadik also took a silver medal in the girls U-16 1500m walk.
Unfortunately Aisling Heneghan was disqualified in the girls U-16 walk as was Clara Tierney in the girls U-15 walk and Michael McLoughlin in the boys U-15 walk. All 3 athletes are excellent walkers and we wish them well for the outdoors.
Further disappointment came for Caoimhe King who had to pull out of the long jump with a hamstring injury after her first jump . She did however manage to secure a silver medal with her one and only jump.
Westport A.C. amassed a total of 10 points today bringing it to a total of 22 points so far. Day 4 is for relays and we wish the best of luck to our relay teams.
