Over six hundred athletes descended on Claremorris Athletic Club on Sunday
for the C & C Cellular Mayo Indoor Track and Field championships.  It was
great to see athletes from a new club in Ballinrobe taking part.  Competition
was very competitive with old and new athletes trying for the medals.  A
special word of thanks to the officials and members of Claremorris Athletic
Club for putting their fine facilities at our disposal.  Thanks to the
ladies who kept body and soul together by providing us with soup, teas,
sandwiches etc

The Connaught Indoor (hurdles and field events) will take place at the same
venue next Saturday.

The National 30k Walk championships takes place at  Claremorris Athletic
Track on Sunday 19th February at 11am.

Rob Heffernan, triple Olympian, Jamie Costin former Olympian and Connaught
own Colin Griffin, Ballinamore who was a holder of the National 50k walk
record will be competing.    There will be a number of juvenile races with
all the top Mayo athletes competing.  Please come along and support our
athletes.
