Westport AC is the largest Juvenile Athletics club in Mayo and the seventh largest in Ireland in the latest Athletics Ireland club membership report. Out of the 366 affiliated clubs with Athletics Ireland, Westport AC is currently 20th overall.

We currently have 432 juvenile members, in September 2023 we had 288 juvenile members so a growth of50% in just over a year with total club membership of 550 and climbing each week.

This growth is in no small part to our wonderful team of coaches who are nurturing our athletes and giving them space to enjoy getting fit in a fun way.

We have also had huge investment in our facilities in Horkan's Hill and are eagerly awaiting a tartan track in the coming months.

We are forever indebted to the generosity and support of so many wonderful businesses and individuals in our Community.

Connacht Unevens Cross Country, Ballymote, Sligo 5th November

The Connacht Uneven Aged Cross Country Championship along with Senior Leg 3 will be hosted by Corran AC/Sligo Co Board on Sunday the 5th of November in Ballymote, Co. Sligo F56 XT29 with a start time of 11am sharp.

Westport AC can enter on the link here, must be 2014 or older and have ran at the Mayo's in Swinford on the 8th October.

Westport Junior Athletics Club AGM takes place on Wednesday 8th of November at 8pm in the Sports Complex Horkans hill.

We urge ALL parents to please come along.

Every family should have at least one representative present.

It is an opportunity to meet others involved with the club and share ideas on how to make our club a great one for our children.

A special mention needs to go to two podium placed super athletes.

EMMA EDMUNDSON was crowned overall winner of the Junior Girls.

ROISIN MALONE claimed overall bronze in the first year girls category.

A massive congratulations to all from Westport A.C. who competed today in the Connacht Primary Schools Cross Country.

We had some podium positions which was wonderful to see.

A special well done to our superstars Emma McGing (2nd individual), May Duckett (3rd individual) Briain O'Dálaigh (5th individual) and Finn Duckett (6th individual). Well done to all our superstars from Westport A.C. who competed in the Uneven Ages Mayo Cross Country. We had U9s right up to Masters men and women competing from the club. Full official results to follow. There were great hills, steep downhills and muck which made it the perfect cross country course. Thank you Swinford A.C.

Today Westport A.C. hosted the The B & J Chambers Mayo Even Ages Cross Country Championships and Senior & Master League.

Without the help from parents, coaches, bakers, sandwich makers and volunteers it would not have been possible. Thank you.

A big shout out to Westport House for letting us use their beautiful grounds. We appreciate it very much.
