Westport Athletics Club was very well represented last Thursday January
27th at the North Connacht Cross Country at Sligo Racecourse. In the
Minor Girls Dearbhail McNamara came 6th with Rebecca O’Malley in 10th
position. The Intermediate Girls saw Ellen Moran coming home in 2nd
place. The girls made a significant contribution to the Sacred Heart
School Minor, Junior and Intermediate teams all qualifying for the
Connachts to be held in St Mary’s, Galway on February 8th.

Last Sunday January 16th the Woodie’s DIY Novice & Juvenile Uneven Ages Cross Country Championships of Ireland took place in the Charleville Demesne in Tullamore.
Westport Athletics Club had a very successful day with its boys U11 team taking the bronze medal in their 1500m race. First in for the team was Patrick Chambers in 13th place followed closely by Cian McAllister in 20th place. Third home was Oisin Moran in 36th position followed by Marley Hoban in 46th.
